Durham Rites Held Sunday

Funeral services for Percell C. Durham, 67, of the Dies Community were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Bethany Baptist Church. The Rev. Paul Gallion, the Rev. Jack Minyard, and the Rev. J C Carter, all of Colmesneil, officiated. Burial was under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were J B and James Ray Smith, John Geeland, Donald R Burke, and Johnny and Milton Durham.

Mr. Durham died at 10:40 p.m. Friday in the Tyler County Hospital following a long illness. He was a lifetime resident of the Dies Community where he was a farmer and cattleman. He was a deacon in the Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Falby Gibson Durham, three sons, Herbert Durham of Humble, Clarence Durham of Woodville, and Fain Durham of Pasadena, three daughters, Mrs. Prescott Geeland of Alvin, Mrs. Kenneth Wood of Grand Saline, and Mrs. George Watson of Houston, three brothers, Charles, Aaron, and David Durham, all of Woodville, four sisters, Mrs. Burl Lee of Woodville, and Mrs. Phil Darwin, Mrs. Steve Fizzio, and Mrs. Florence Bingham, all of Beaumont, 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
