PARIS - Leonora Spencer Stucki, 83, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2000, at her winter home in Caldwell, Idaho.
She was born on January 22, 1917, in Paris, Idaho, and was the ninth child of George Boardman and Adelina Horsley Spencer Jr.

She married Eugene B. Stucki on June 6, 1941, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They resided in Paris most of their married life. They had the opportunity to spend several winters in Arizona and Caldwell.

Leonora loved music. Her mother taught her to play the piano at an early age, and she used this gift throughout her life to play for a variety of church groups, a dance band and as an accompanist. She also loved to sing, and did so regularly as a member of a ladies' quartet, Chordbusters, Legisladies, and many other groups throughout her life.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served willingly and faithfully in many capacities that included counselor in the stake YWMIA, a member of the stake Sunday school board, Relief Society president, counselor, secretary and teacher, and as stake and ward organist. In addition to raising a family and helping Eugene on the farm, she also taught piano lessons, and worked at the Paris Post Office and County Courthouse.
Leonora is survived by her husband, Eugene, and their six children, Spencer, Carol, Reed, Jean, Linda and Kenneth. Her greatest pride was her children, 38 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Alice Spencer Christensen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 12, at 2 p.m. in the Paris Stake Tabernacle, where friends may call that day from noon until 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
