Ellis -- Michael Augustine Jr., 83, Ellis, died Saturday, Jan. 23, 1999, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Augustine was born Nov. 15, 1915, at Ellis.

He was a farmer-stockman and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, Christina of the home; seven sons, Gene of Dennison, Texas, Glen of Denver, David of Hutchinson, Gerald of Louisiana, Ronald of Pampa, Texas, Arthur of Broken Bow, Okla., and Galen of Lenora; a daughter, Mary Ann Huffman of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Barbara Burns of Hays; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ellis, the Rev. Kevin Weber officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Wasinger Funeral Chapel, Ellis. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the church. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 400 E. 17th, Ellis 67637.
