Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel in Independence with the Revs. Richard Collins and Lee McKinnon officiating. Interment will be in the Comers Rock Cemetery.
She was born May 11, 1925, in Grayson County, daughter of the late Joseph Garfield "Bud" and Lucy Jean "Sis" Hackler.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Lahugh Bond of Wytheville; three grandchildren, Hope Sullivan of Ivanhoe, Anthony Sullivan and wife, Shannon, of Church Hill, Tenn., and Travis Bond of New York, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Baustin, Katelyn and Kaylee; and several cousins.
