From "The Jackson Sun," Dec. 30, 2008: Graveside services for Mary Helen Jenkins, 90, will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Highland Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Charles Williams officiating. Mrs. Jenkins died on December 24, 2008, at her residence.

She was born on January 1, 1918, to the late Thomas Dewitt Talmadge Gaither and Minnie Grace Vantreese Gaither. She was a graduate of Jackson High School and attended West Tennessee Business College. She was married to Thomas Foster Jenkins, who was killed in action during WWII as an Air Force Pilot. She retired from E.L. Morgan Co. as bookkeeper. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She was also preceded in death by her son, John Thomas Jenkins; her brothers J.T., Talmadge, Harold, Charles, Richard and infant brother Herman; and a sister, Louise.

Survivors include special nieces, Patsy Cole, Patricia Haggard, Diane Hoover and Vickie Crawford and other nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers to serve will be Mike Rowland, Mike Dennison, Sam McNatt, Clay Browning, Earl Shackelford and Homer Duncan.
