Wife of George W. Wilson... Sarah "Elizabeth" Rust was born 8/17/1831 or 1834 on "Prospect Hill" near Upperville Fauquier County, Virginia. Her parents were Benjamin Rust and Frances Davis Rust.
Elizabeth married George Washington Wilson in 1866 (32510344). www.wvculture.org, county record #971, line 28 Jackson West Virginia reveals record of marriage. Her age recorded as 30, George W. Wilson's age not legible. Of this union, two children were born.
1. George Rust Wilson was born 1869 Polk County, Missouri. Other information is not located on him at this point including death. One source gives 1869 but not confirmed.
2. May Ethel Wilson born 1871 Polk Missouri. She married John A. Atchely 12/25/1889 Louisburg Missouri.
Elizabeth is then noted in April 1910 census image 7 of 24 Grant Township Dallas County Missouri in household of John and May Ethel Atchely ,(daughter) and their children. Further, mother-in-law age 72 but name Sarah Jones. It has been noted that on one site as married to unknown Jones in 1850. However record review reveals no documentation of assertion. Perhaps she remarried after George Wilson's death., but no record of that marriage either. That seems to possibly be the case since she's listed with her first name, Sarah and last name Jones in 1910 census. Hopefully, a descendant will clarify or record will be located to clarify and confirm.
The following has been noted regarding the memorials. Review of George Wilson's headstone picture (32510344) is double and wife as Elizabeth AUST. Memorial (5139812). From the picture, her name does appear to be AUST instead of Rust. In addition, AUST not located on cemetery listing. Possible that the connecting part of R has worn away resulting in A, headstone not engraved as deep to connect, or error of unknown origin. It is noted Elizabeth Rust doesn't have stone picture available. Managers of memorials have done well for circumstances... appreciated.
