Henry Madison Rust was born to Benjamin Rust and Frances Davis Rust in 1827 at "Prospect Hill" Fauquier County Virginia near Upperville. He never married.

The family moved in 1849 to Jackson County Virginia. (now known as West Virginia).

Henry studied law and graduated Law School Staunton, Virginia. Within a few years, he moved to Catlettburg Kentucky and became a Kentucky senator serving 1857-1861.

Henry Madison Rust then served in the Civil War. As a Confederate Lieutenant, he fought during the Battle of Ivy Mountain, Kentucky and was severely wounded. Taken to unknown location, but near Catlettsburg, Kentucky, where he died from his wounds. This town is probably the place of interment, but his burial location unknown.

Henry Madison Rust had a brother named Benjamin Daniel Rust. The parents of these brothers were Benjamin and Frances Davis Rust. As a descendant of Benjamin Daniel, any information is appreciated on this family. Please feel free to contact me... email... [email protected]
