Wesley B. Garrison was born in the State of Pennsylvania December 4, 1832, and was married to Miss Mary Painter November 17, 1853. They moved to Mount Union, Ohio in 1858, where he was employed in a general store for several years, after which they moved to this state, first locating at Fowler, and in 1886 settling in Eaton Rapids, where in partnership with his son-in-law, Mr. E.A. Rice, he opened a bazaar in the Blacker building.
As business increased and Mr. Rice retired from the business, he was successively located in the Walter block, the Leonard block, and again in the Blacker building, and by his strict integrity and earnest effort he did a flourishing business for many years. Mr. Garrison was a devout Christian, and a constant member of the M.E. Church. He is survived by his constant and indulgent wife and seven children: James M. of Santa Barbara, California, George P. of Traverse City, Michigan, Mrs. Effie B. Rice, of St. Johns, Michigan, Albert N., of Seattle, Washington, Mrs. E.B. Mowers of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Myrtle Fuller of Utica, Michigan, and Miss Lillian of this city.
