Talmadge M. King, age 73, of Farnham, died at his home on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 after a valiant fight with cancer. He was the retired owner/operator of the Warsaw Sears Catalogue Store, a member of Totuskey Baptist Church, the Richmond County Rescue Squad, the Richmond County Fire Department (Farnham Division), and the Callao Moose Lodge. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Mary Lee King; one daughter, Linda King Morse of king William; one son, T. Wayne King and his wife, Debbie, of Warsaw; three grandsons, David Brian Balderson of King William; Petty Officer Matthew Wyatt King of Portland, Maine and Tyler Haynie King of Warsaw; one great Granddaughter, Reinya Jean Balderson of King William; one sister, Etta Opatka of Mass.; two brothers, Wellington King of Farnham, and Ernest King of Tappahannock; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2005 at the Welch Funeral Home, Marks Chapel, 10300 Richmond Road, Warsaw, with burial in Totuskey Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Wade Wilkins officiated. Pallbearers were Aubrey "Audie" King, Ernest "Gene" King, Norman Balderson, Chris Balderson, Scott King, William King, David King, and David Ambrose. Memorial contributions may be made to Rappahannock General Hospital Cancer Center, c/o Ann O. Herron, P.O. Box 588, Kimarnock, Va. 22482, or the charity of your choice.
