Gertrude was the daughter of Calvin M. & Carrie A. (Smith) Latham and she spent her earliest years in Norwich Township, Franklin County, OH. Father Calvin was a veteran of the Civil War, having served with Company F of the 88th Ohio Volunteer Infantry Regiment. At the time of the 1900 Federal Census, Gertrude was living with her older sister, Jeannette Emma Latham in the town of Delaware, OH. On October 1, 1902, Gertrude was married to Harry Watson Robinson. Gertrude & Harry parented three children between the years of 1905 & 1911: Jeannette Amelia Robinson (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), Eugene Luther Robinson (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), & Dorothy Louise Robinson. The 1920 Federal Census found Gertrude, Harry, their three children, and Gertrude's older sister, Jeannette Emma Latham, living in one household in the Delaware County village of Ostrander. In 1931, Gertrude made application to the National Archives for a copy of her father's Civil War records. She then listed her address as 32 North Winter Street, Delaware, OH.
