Carrie was the daughter of Alvah & Amelia (White) Smith, both originally from Hampden County, MA, and who later moved to Delaware County, OH. On October 5, 1858, Carrie was married to Calvin M. Latham in Delaware County by local justice of the peace F. Kinsdric. The couple lived on family farms in Liberty Township, Delaware County, OH, & in Norwich Township, Franklin County, OH. Carrie & Calvin reportedly parented seven children between the years of 1859 & 1881: Jeannette Emma Latham (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), William Kendrick Latham (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery), Harry Smith Latham, Franklin "Frank" White Latham, Edgar "Eddie" Milton Latham, Chauncey (a.k.a. "Chauncy") Shepard Latham, & Gertrude E. Latham (also buried at Oak Grove Cemetery).
