Mrs. Gibbs died Monday, December 6, 1999, at the Richardson Medical Center in Rayville. She was a resident of the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, and a former resident of Archibald. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archibald.
Mrs. Gibbs was preceded in death by her first huband, J. C. "Jim" Allen; her son, Burdis Allen; her daughter, Helen Wheat; and a grandson, James Luther Allen, Jr.
Survivors include two sons - Luther Allen and his wife, Ruth, of Bastrop, LA and Huey Allen and his wife, Inez of Archibald, LA; a daughter-in-law, Juanita Allen of Archibald, LA; a brother, Ted Crawford and wife, Rosie, of Rayville, LA; a sister, Katie B. Conley of Rayville, LA; nine grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were Brian Allen, Mark Allen, Gordan Allen, Donnie Allen, Mike Wheat and Rusty Wood.
