STEPHEN ALFRED PHILLIPS

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the Browning Funeral Home for Stephen Alfred Phillips who died Friday morning at his home on Stack Road, Fulton. He had been ill for several years.
Mr. Phillips was born June 22, 1896, at Ashland, Mo., a son of Benjamin and Mary Daniels Phillips. He was married Sept. 27, 1918, to the former Annie Brizendine. They first lived at Ashland and then west of New Bloomfield before moving to Fulton in 1942. He was a farmer, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church west of New Bloomfield.
Survivors include his wife; seven children, Troy, Edward, Wilbert and Donald Phillips and Mrs. Margaret Matteson of Fulton, Mrs. Mildred Colter, Mexico, and Norman Phillips of St. Charles; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Hudson, Columbia, and Mrs. Eunice Sweeten, Fulton; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews. Five sisters, two brothers and a daughter preceded him in death.
The Rev. Fred Pulliam will officiate at the services and interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Elbert Blythe, O. C. McVeigh, Ivan O'Neal, Edgar Colter, Malcolm Maupin and Orville Baysinger.
