Louise Elizabeth Opperman, 83, formerly of McKeesport, died yesterday in the Las-Passavant Health Care and Retirement Center in Zelienople. She was a member of the Bryn Mawr Church of Christ and its Seekers Class, was graduated and employed as a licensed practical nurse at West Penn Hospital, a former charge nurse at Forbes Pavilion in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh and a nurse's aide at McKeesport Hospital. During World War II, Mrs. Opperman was a shell inspector at the Christy Park plant, U.S. Steel Corp.

Born Oct. 25, 1913, in Dravosburg, she was a daughter of the late John Alva and Rose Schad Brakeall and the wife of the late Frank R. Opperman. Surviving are a daughter, Joan B. Rae of North Huntingdon Twp.; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Genevieve Akerberg of North Versailles Twp.; nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home, Inc. Service will be conducted in the chapel there at 11 a.m. Monday with her nephew, Charles Owston, minister, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
