Married first to Beatrice Donough (1902-1935), who died in a fire which destroyed their home which was about 2 miles southeast of Little Washington, in Richland County, Ohio. Married second to Edna Walters Beer, with whom he is buried (Beatrice Beer is beside them). Obituary in the Mansfield News-Journal of Aug. 8, 1962 states, retired from Beer Supermarkets. Survived by wife, Edna Walters Beer; brothers Harry E., Martin E., Albert R., Chester L., Carl E. and Richard Beer; sister, Mrs. Herbert Norrick.
