James DeMoss—founder of DEMOSS farms, still in operation today south of Camp Point. James settled in the area in 1835 when the town was founded. His son, John O, also farmed. James Edward (grandson), Glenn Otis (great-grandson), John Wesley (great-great grandson), David Wesley (3rd-great-grandson), and Christian James & Cody Campbell DeMoss (4th-great-grandsons and sons of David & Ginger DeMoss).
