Coatsburg, Ill., Aug. 21.—Mrs. Jane Barlow, one of the oldest and best known citizens of Coatsburg, passed away at her home here Wednesday morning at 9:30. She had been ailing about three weeks and bed fast for a week. Death resulted from the infirmities of old age. Mrs. Barlow, nee DeMoss, was born , near Cincinnati, Ohio, October 1, 1832. When she was 3 years old she came with her parents, Charles and Sarah DeMoss, to Adams county and has resided here most of the time since. She was married to Perry Barlow July 8,1852. Her husband preceded her in death about 20 years ago. There are left to mourn three children, Mrs. Ann Gray of Philadelphia, Mo.; Mrs. Olive Brown and Miss Alice of Coatsburg. There are fifteen grandchildren and nine, great grand children. In 1881 Mrs. Barlow united with the Christian church and has since been a faithful member.
