The Rev. Louis F. Ricketson, 68, Rt. 1, Box 528, Paris, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, in Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Hill and the Rev. Bill Draper officiating.

Burial will be in Hopwell Cemetery.

Jeanine & Jeanette they both lived 2 days and should both be buried in the Hopewell Cemetery.

The Rev. Louis F. Ricketson, 68, Rt. 1, Box 528, Paris, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, in Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Hill and the Rev. Bill Draper officiating. Burial will be in Hopwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Ricketson was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Caviness, a son of George Leon and Jessie Pearl Drake Ricketson.

He attended Caviness and Central schools, Lamar Business College, and had done other graduate course studies. H was a veteran of the Army Air Corps, serving in Burma and India during World War II and during the Korean Conflict.

He married Jo Kirby on Oct. 18, 1946, in Caviness.

He was an accountant, tax appraiser and minister. He had served churches as pastor for over 30 years in Lamar and Hopkins counties. He was chief deputy in the Lamar County Clerk's office for 13 years before setting up the North Lamar School Tax office, which he handled for three years. He then became the first chief appraiser in the establishment of the Lamar County Appraisal District, which he served for four years before retiring in 1983. He was one of the first Registered Tax Appraisers in the state of Texas. He was a member of the Tax Professional Examiners in which he was a Registered Tax Appraiser. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He was a member of the Powderly Baptist Church where he taught the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Red River Valley Fair Association.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Jeannette Martin of Reno; a son, Ronnie Ricketson of Paris; three grandchildren, Rebecca Bryan of Coeur D'Alene, ID, Tisha Ricketson of Paris and Jennifer Martin of Reno; a brother, Kenneth Ricketson of Pleasanton; a sister, Gaynell Barnes of Weatherford; and a sister-in-law for whom he helped provide, Mammie Kirby of Paris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Jerry Martin, Mike Head, Timothy Norris, Mark Steelman, Bill Haynes, and Buddy Carter.

Honorary pallbearers will be L.D. Head, Adell Slagle, John Norwell, and Harold Prowse.
