Obituary - Newspaper Unknown - 1993:
Funeral services for Susanna "Susie" Butt, age 90, was held, Saturday, March 13, 1993, at 2 P.M., in the First Christian Church of Central City [NE]. Mrs. Butt died Thursday, March 11, at her home. Rev. Cliff Cockburn officiating.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 P.M. Friday at the First Christian Church in Central City with a prayer service at 7 P.M. Interment was in the Central City Cemetery, Central City.
Pallbearers were Robert Kanter, Linda Lux, Dale Carlson, Pat Carlson, Wayne Kanter, Carol Kanter, Rich Person, Karla Person, Richard Scheck, Sally Scheck, Mike Reeves and Debbie Reeves. Arrangements were by the Solt Funeral Home of Central City. Karla Person and Wendy Carlson sang "We Will Glorify". November, Lindsay, and Austin Person sang "Jesus Name Above All Names" and "In His Time".
The congregation sang "Tis So Sweet To trust in Jesus".
Mrs. Butt was born October 16, 1902 in Howard County to Theodore and Katherine (Sohl) Doncheski. She lived in Texas and Colorado as a young girl and moved to Nebraska after the death of her parents.
She married Otto Butt on October 1, 1923 in Grand Island [NE]. They farmed in Merrick County. Mr. Butt died January 4, 1985 and in 1986 she moved into Central City.
Mrs. Butt was a member of the Community Service Circle and the Platte Valley Bible Study. She belonged to the Union Sunday School until its closing when she transferred to the First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Missionary Society and the Dorcas Circle. She was active at the Senior Center and loved to bake pies and make noodles.
Survivors include one son, Adolph of Central City; three daughters, Katherine (Mrs. Clarence) Kanter of Palmer [NE], Dorothy (Mrs. Bud) Irwin of Central City and Ila Jean Scherer of Loveland CO; two sisters, Rosie Blanchard of St. Paul [NE] and Pauline (Mrs. Fred) Butt of Central City; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, two great granddaughters, four brothers and four sisters.
