Rites for Helmet A. Butts, 87, Central City [NE] were held Wednesday, January 22, 1986 at 10:A.M. at the Solt Funeral Home of Central City with Michael Novak officiating. Burial was in the Central City Cemetery.
Mr. Dwaine Nelson accompanied herself at the organ as she sang "How Great Thou Art".
Pallbearers were Dana Ruge, Dwain Ruge, Darcy Butts, Darwin Ruge, Frank Minar, Darrell Ruge, Marvin Luschei and Wesley Beck Jr.
Mr. Butts died Monday, at a Grand Island [NE] hospital. He was born August 20, 1898 at Western [NE] to August and Augusta (Burkhart) Butts. They moved to the Central City community when he was 11. He received his education at District 50 school near Central City.
He married Alma Brown February 22, 1922 in Merrick County. They made their home in the Central City area. She died in October 1983.
Survivors include a son, Max of Clarks [NE]; two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Jensen and Mrs. Wilma Ruge, both of Central City; a brother, Fritz of Central City; one sister, Hannah Butt of Palmer [NE], seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
