Elsie married Frank Fred Nickel Oct 14, 1914 near Archer, Prairie Creek twp, Merrick Co, NE.

Central City NE Republican Newspaper - October 22, 1914:
The country home of Mr. And Mrs. Fred F. Nickel in Prairie Creek township, Merrick county NE, was the scene Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 1914, of a happy gathering when their son, Frank F. Nickel and Miss Elsie Butt were pronounced man and wife. Rev. Wichelt of the German Lutheran Church performing the ceremony. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion, and the taking of vows was witnessed by friends and relatives numbering fifty.
The bride was most attractively gowned in white and carried a bouquet.
Immediately following the pretty ring ceremony, a six o'clock wedding dinner of culinary perfection was served. In the evening the happy young couple were tendered a lively charivari by their many friends in Prairie Creek.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. August Butt, residing east of this city, and is a young lady both of pleasing character and attractive appearance.
For the past year she has made her home with Mr. And Mrs. Fred Nickel and has endeared herself to the entire family.
The groom is Mr. Nickel's eldest son and he is, in addition, a source of keen pride to his parents. A young man of high ideals and industrious traits, his future is one of high promise. He and his bride will, for the present, make their home with the groom's parents; but will on March 1st move to the J.D. Samuel place near Archer NE which the elder Mr. Nickel has recently purchased.
