Obituary - Central City [NE] Republican Nonpareil Newspaper - 1994:
Funeral services for Fritz Frank Butt, 87, were held Wednesday, January 5, 1994 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church [Central City]. Mr. Butt died Monday, January 3, 1994 at his home in Central City.
The 2:00 P.M. services were officiated by the Rev. Scott Porath with interment in the Central City Cemetery. Visitation was held from 5 to 9 PM Tuesday at Solt Funeral Home of Central City.
Music was provided by organist Arlene Scholz with congregational hymns "I'm But a Stranger", and "Abide With Me." A duet, "Children of the Heavenly Father", was sung by Susan Butt and Bonnie Hansen. Serving as pallbearers were Rick Butt, Dick Butt, Rex Luebbe, Randy Butt, Russ Luebbe, Russell Butt, Stacy Hilderbrand and Scott Hilderbrand.
Mr. Butt was born April 27, 1906 in Saline County to August and Augusta A. (Burkhart) Butt. He moved with his family to Merrick County when he was six years old. He attended District 50 School
On December 9, 1927 he married Pauline Doncheski in Grand Island NE. at a Lutheran Church. He lived and farmed on the home place for 81 years.
Mr. Butt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and held various offices, he enjoyed hunting and was an avid fan of bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline, of Central City; three daughters, Ernestine (Mrs. Jerome) Grigsby of Aurora [NE], Nadine (Mrs. Dale) Hilderbrand of Grand Island [NE], Dorrine (Mrs. Kenneth) Luebbe of Central City; two sons, Richard and Roger of Central City; one sister, Hannah Butt of Palmer [NE], 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers, Otto, Helmet, Paul, Rynold, and infant brother; three sisters, Elsie Nickel, Bertha Hake and an infant sister.
