Walter is the son of Silas James Arthur Beavers of Alabama and Rosa Ann Pearson Beavers of Mississippi. He married Ninnie Beatrice Green on December 4, 1898. They had a son, Harvey; and a daughter, Thelma. They are buried at Evergreen in Roxton, Texas. His wife is buried next to him.
