Emily was the daughter of Nathaniel and Lucinda Rouse. She was raised in Shelby County, Indiana and married Elias Ennis on April 8, 1854 in Johnson County, Indiana. We believe her siblings were; Thompson (1843), Eliza J. Rouse (1845), William (1847), Thomas (1848), Sarah F. (1840), Elmira (1844), John (1847), George (1849). (All dates are approximates.)
Her children were; John A. (1855), William H. (1858), Samuel (1860), George (1861), Nathaniel (1871) Mary A. (1875).
William Ennis was born in 1858 in Indiana. We haven't found the date of death as of yet. William is in the 1860/1870 census in Columbia. He was 2 yrs in 1860 and 13 yrs. old in the 1870 census'. He may have passed away after the 1870 census or married. As for Grandchild Mary, we don't know who she belonged to or who the Infants were. We do wonder if this Mary who is listed in the censuses as Mary A. could be the Grandchild instead of a child. The mystery continues.....
~UPDATE~
We now believe that the Grandchild Mary on the headstone was their son Nathaniel's daughter who was stillborn. Also, the Grandchildren could be Nathaniel's two small children who passed away before a year old.
