Josephine Florence Smith was born into a farming family in Hanover, NJ. Her parents were Joseph Henry Smith & Agnes Rose Kennedy. Florence married Thomas at the Rectory of the Assumption Morristown, NJ on Oct. 16, 1921 at 7 P.M.. She and Thomas had five children while she worked at the ticket booth in the movie theater on the "Green" in Morristown. Her husband was a US postal worker, so they both had jobs during the Depression. They lived and worked in Morristown until they retired to Pompano Beach, Florida around 1960. After Thomas died in 1965 she moved back to Florida to live with her youngest daughter Eileen. She died in Margate, Florida in 1983.
