Enos was the son of Isaac McPherson and Mary Unknown. They lived in the Sinking Creek Valley near Simmonsville, VA. Per census records, he was living in Giles Co., VA in 1810.

He married Mahalia Jane Daugherty about 1825. In 1830, Enos and Mahalia were living in White Co., TN with two children. In 1840, they were in Bledsoe Co., TN and in 1860 they were in White Oak, Franklin, Arkansas. According to my grandmother, Mahalia died in 1866 while her son, Elijah was serving in the war. (I wonder if she meant 1865.) I have not been able to locate a burial for her.

Enos and Mahalia had the following known children:
* Elizabeth Ann b. abt. 1826 TN
* Lewis A McPherson
* Isaac Lawson McPherson
* David George b. abt. 1834 TN
* Mahalia J. b. abt. 1837 TN,
* William Willis b. abt. 1839 TN
* Joseph Marion McPherson
* Amanda Melvina McPherson Muse
* Elijah Tipton McPherson
* Rhodena Angeline b. abt. 1850 De Kalb, AL,

Enos' second wife, Mary Kealand/Keeling, was born May 1829 in Tennessee and d. Mar 10 1910 in Nevada, Vernon, MO. She is buried in Deepwood Cemetery, but her grave site can no longer be located.

Enos and Mary had the following known children:
* Harland Sylvester McPherson
* George Ben McPherson

Enos may have had other children as the 1840 census lists two young females that have not been accounted for.
