MARLIN HOCKING
BOISE- Marlin E. Hocking, 52, Boise, died Sunday at a Boise hospital of natural causes.
He was born June 10, 1927, at Pocatello. He married Leora K. Wolfenbarger June 26, 1945 at Pocatello and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He started his 33-year career as a printer at Gateway Printing in Pocatello, moving to Ogden, Utah, in 1952 to work as a printer-lithographer for the Ogden Standard Examiner. In 1966 he moved to Boise. At the time of his death he was Idaho's bureau chief of printing services, a position he held since 1974.
He served as president of the Capitol Chapter Idaho Public Employees Association, and vice president of the In-Plant Printing Association.
Survivors include his wife, Boise; one son, William Hocking, Boise; two daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Kellie) Reed, Boise, and Mrs. Kent (Linda) Horspool, Hooper, Utah; three brothers, Ivan Hocking, Boise; Elliot Hocking, Spokane, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Nielsen, Shelley; Mrs. Ada Yowell, Pocatello, and Mrs. Bonnie Dudley, Seattle, Wash.; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the home of Billy and Ada Yowell 4901 Yellowstone, No. 5, Pocatello, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
Graveside services will be held in Mountain View Cemetery, Pocatello, Friday at 2 p.m., with Rev. Russell Houston officiating and military rites by the Pocatello American Legion. The Relyea Mortuary of Boise is in charge of arrangements.
