Farry N Cress, 101, Convoy OH, died at 1:29 am Saturday (Ohio time) in Convoy Care Center. She was born on November 22, 1897 in Paulding County OH, to Alonzo and Delilah Yoakam Thompson and married Fred Cress on September 28, 1916; he died on February 15, 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of My Victory United Brethren in Christ Church. Surviving are two sons, Duane I Cress of Decatur and Lowell E Cress of Pembroke Pines FL; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Rev Delbert E Cress, a daughter, Lois Plumley; two sisters, Ethel Adams and Wilma Black; and three brothers Rollie, Harley and Lester Thompson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday in Mt Victory United Brethren in Christ Church with burial in IOOF Cemetery at Convoy. Visiting hours are until 5 pm and 6-8 pm today in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 am Tuesday in the church. Preferred memorials are to the building fund at the church or to the building fund at Crossroads Church, rural Decatur.
