She was born on November 22, 1897 in Paulding County OH, to Alonzo and Delilah Yoakam Thompson and married Fred Cress on September 28, 1916; he died on February 15, 1971. She was a homemaker and a member of My Victory United Brethren in Christ Church. Surviving are two sons, Duane I Cress of Decatur and Lowell E Cress of Pembroke Pines FL; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Deceased are a son, Rev Delbert E Cress, a daughter, Lois Plumley; two sisters, Ethel Adams and Wilma Black; and three brothers Rollie, Harley and Lester Thompson. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday in Mt Victory United Brethren in Christ Church with burial in IOOF Cemetery at Convoy. Visiting hours are until 5 pm and 6-8 pm today in Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, and 9:30-10:30 am Tuesday in the church. Preferred memorials are to the building fund at the church or to the building fund at Crossroads Church, rural Decatur.
