Son of John E Wilfong and Josephine Varner. He married Ruth Bryant Arbogast on 4 Jul 1913 in Crabbottom VA by Rev. Walter S. Thomas. Ruth and Wardell raised several children on a farm they owned in Huttonsville, Wv.on Becky's Creek Road. He remarried after the death of his wife Ruth of many years and several children.Ruth died Feb. 10, 1956. He then married Virginia Ruth Gear Tacy five years later on 7 Jan 1961 in Barbour Co. WV by John Halbert. Virginia and Wardell lived for several years before his death in Beverly WV. They lived in the house that was two doors down from Dr. Pritt,s office in Beverly, Wv. Virginia lived in the house until her death in 1975. He died from arteriosclerosis & acute coronary occlusion.
