Short, condensed bio: Dale was one of ten children born to Charles and Katherine
Stevens. He was a veteran of World War II, and a 35 year employee of the US
Postal Service.

Dale married Kathleen Kelley on August 7, 1949, in Liberal, Kansas
Dale Stevens, lifetime Tyrone, Oklahoma resident, passed from this life on
December 17, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. at the Rainbow Community Health Center in
Bristow, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years and 3 months. Dale was born to Charles
and Katherine Stevens on September 17, 1915 on the Stevens Homestead 5 miles
west of Tyrone. Dale was one of ten children born to this family. He was a 35
year veteran of the United States Postal Service where he served as a rural
letter carrier. He served in various capacities during his life at Tyrone but
his passion would always be the old homestead west of town. Stories to numerous
to recall came from that place he always called home. Dale was a veteran of
World War 2 where he served as a military policeman transporting prisoners
stateside. He was married to Kathleen Kelley on August 7, 1949 at the Christian
Church in Liberal, Kansas. Dale is survived by two children, Rebecca Jean Hook
and her husband Ausbie of Wichita, Kansas and Garvin Stevens and wife Stephanie
of Olive, Oklahoma. Three grandchildren, Todd Hook and wife, Leilani of Wichita,
Kansas, Kyle Hook and wife Rashelle also of Wichita, Kansas and Kyndal Stevens
of Tulsa, Oklahoma. One great grandchild Bradley Zrubek of Wichita, Kansas. Dale
is also survived by one sister, Doris Mann of Tyrone and one brother Jim of
Hutchison, Kansas. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and
Katherine, Kathleen his wife, a granddaughter Kecia Stevens, 5 sisters, Elmo
Compton, Gladys Rist, Maxine Cain, Mildred Woodward and Florence Ann Crist and 2
brothers, Curtis and Bruce Stevens. Dale leaves behind host of nieces, nephews,
friends and acquaintances which he has impacted throughout his life. Memorials
are suggested to the Tyrone Cemetery Fund or the Kecia Deann Stevens Memorial
Endowment in Nursing at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma
and may be left at Roberts Brothers Funeral Home, Box 745, Hooker, Ok 73945.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday December 21, 2012 at the Tyrone
United Methodist Church with Rev. George Brock and Rev. Les Bussell officiating.
Interment will be in the Tyrone Cemetery directed by Roberts Brothers Funeral
Home in Hooker, Oklahoma.
