John Anna Franklin was born March 13, 1858 in Wittich Twp., Franklin Co., Arkansas, she died November 10, 1921 in Branch, Franklin Co., Arkansas.

She was the daughter of Calvin and Amanda Anna Adaline Reed Gage.

After the death of her father Calvin, in the Civil War and after the death of her mother, she was raised by her Grandparents, Stephen Sparks Gage, SR. and Mary Catherine Sharp Gage.

She married Neal Smith Franklin on September 4, 1879 in Etna, Franklin Co., Arkansas.

1.James Manson "Mance" Franklin, b.June 07, 1880, d. July 15, 1957. Mance married Susan V. "Sue" Harkins.
