Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Barnett Ball, 78, resident of the Chicken Creek section, were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at Bennett-May Funeral Home, conducted by John Clifford of Lewisburg and Bernard Burgess, Pulaski, Church of Christ ministers. Burial took place in Greenwood Cemetery, near Bodenham. Mrs. Ball died at 2:15 o'clock Friday afternoon, March 31, at her home after a long illness.
Born in Lexington, Ala., May 5, 1882, she was the daughter of the late C. Edward Barnett and Mary Jane Kimbrough Barnett. She was a member of the Church of Christ, and was the widow of Clint Ball who died July 19, 1940.
Mrs. Ball is survived by one foster son, David Ball; five grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Willie L. Wheeler; all of the Chicken Creek Community.
