WORLD WAR I NURSE
DIES AT HOSPITAL

Miss Cleo C. Barnes of Rosedale, age 60, died at 6:00 o'clock, Thursday morning, November 10, in the Vermillion County hospital, Clinton, where she had undergone surgery, two weeks before.

She served as a nurse in the armed forces during World War I and had been a nurse for the past 28 years, 23 of which she served as superintendent of nurses at the Indiana state sanatorium.

She was a member of the Liberty Baptist church and Mary Martin chapter No. 190, Order of Eastern Star of Rosedale.

Surviving are the mother, Mrs. Anna Barnes; two sisters, Mrs. Hettie Miller and Mrs. Margaret Hudson; and three brothers, Perle, Herva and Clarence Barnes, all of Rosedale, R. R. 2.

The body was taken to Cottrell & Williams funeral home in Rosedale. Funeral services were held at 1:00 o'clock, Sunday afternoon, at the Baptist church with Elder W. E. Essex officiating and with burial in Forks of the Creek cemetery.
