Born the son of James Matthew Young and Manerva 'Nervie' Barnard Young in Grainger County,Tennessee on Nov. 10th 1864 he married Sarah "Sallie" Lee.
They were the parents of twelve children; Addie, Effie, Emma, Lillard(Buck), Lillie, Mollie, Charlie, Pierce, Lucy, Henry, Matthew(Matt)and Levi.
He died on Oct.8th,1936.
