Born in 1906 to George and Sarah 'Sallie' Lee Young she died Monday at Petersburg,Va. at the age of 61.
She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church in Knoxville.Survivors include her husband;Sherman Childress of Petersbur,Virginia.;Sisters Effie Young of Tazwell,Tennessee ;Addie (Lewis) Leffew of Thorne Hill, Tennessee;and Emma (Clay) Hayes of Franklin,Ohio. Brothers Matthew Young and Lilliard Young of Tazewell,Tennessee and Levi Young of Knoxville,Tennessee'
Funeral services were held at Young Chapel Church with the Rev. Bill Jones and the Rev. Dewey Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Irish Cemetery.
The Reece Funeral Home of New Tazewell,Tennessee were in charge of arrangements.
