George Ketterman was the son of Justice Ketterman and Mary Ann Wood.

His first wife was Julia Ann Lewellen, married Nov. 11, 1845. They had 1 daughter named Julia Ann Ketterman b. 1846 and died 1928.

After Julia Ann died he remarried again to Nancy Shimer on April 13, 1848 and they also had 1 daughter named Amanda V. Ketterman.

George Ketterman died young at age 28 years, 11 months, and 16 days of age.

The Indiana Mortality Schedule for Randolph County in 1850 says that he died of cholera after eight days with the disease. That's why he was just 28 at the time of his death.
