Crow, Robert A.,2nd Lt. Capt. Co. L. 12th La. Infty. En. Aug. 13th, 1861, Camp Moore, La. Present on all Rolls to April, 1863. Roll for May and June, 1863, Absent, sick, at Canton, Miss. C., occupation school teacher, age 21, eyes gray, hair dark, complexion fair, height 6 ft.

Robert Alexander Crow was a man of clean morals and high ideals. A man beloved by all who knew him. He attended college at Georgetown, Kentucky and was teaching near his home in Webster Parish Louisiana when the Civil War was declaired. He was among the first to soldier arms and away from home and loved ones so dear. He won the rank of Captain, but would not accept it over one who was older than he. After a short illness in the hospital at Atlanta Ga, he died and was buried there. To his heart broken parents this was a sad time, but they had the comfort of knowing that he died without blemish on his fair name. He was not married, but had he lived, he would very likely have married the beautiful girl of Georgetown, Kentucky. Her picture is cherished in loving rememberance by his family.
