Deceased Name: V. LORAINE ARMSTRONG

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Stehn's Milwaukie Funeral Home for V. Loraine Armstrong, who died June 18 at age 86.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Nov. 11, 1912, in Lockhart, Texas. Her maiden name was Doyle. She was a teacher in Lockhart, for eight years, receiving teaching certification in 1937 and a bachelor's degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos in 1942. She was a model and seamstress for Saks Fifth Avenue in Chicago and New York City and worked for Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, Calif., during World War II. In 1951, she moved to Milwaukie and was a homemaker and member of Central Bible Church in Portland. In 1944, she married George E.; he died in 1996.

Survivors include her daughter, Sally M. Waldren of Newberg; sister, Julia M. Wackerhagan of Maxwell, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to Multnomah Bible College or to her church.
