Died, at 7:30 o'clock Friday morning, April 16, 1915, at the home of his brother, A. V. Judd of Dawson, after a short illness, M. L. Judd, one of Sangamon county's well known residents, aged 73 years, 3 months and 23 days.

Mr. Judd was born in Clear Lake township, December 23, 1841, and was the son of Rezin and Eve Judd. He had been a resident of this county all of his life. In his early life he worked on a farm in Clear Lake township, later working for the government as a mail carrier. He answered the call to colors in 1860 and served as a soldier in the federal army during the civil war. Upon his return he was employed in the general merchandise store owned by his brother at Dawson, later buying the entire stock. He conducted this business until ill health forced him to sell out. The remainder of his life he spent with his brother in Dawson.

Mr. Judd was a consistent member of the Dawson Methodist Episcopal church of Dawson. He was also a member of Dawson lodge, 556, A. F. & A. M. and of Stephenson Post, No. 30, G. A. R.

He is survived by his brother, A. V. Judd. The funeral services will be held Sunday morning at the Dawson Methodist church. The services will be held under the auspices of the Dawson Masonic organization. Interment will be in the Dawson cemetery.
