Visitations were held from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm on Friday at Pulaski Funeral Home. Burial followed with a grave-side service commencing at 2:30 pm at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky where she was laid to rest with her beloved husband, Marcus Cecil Dunesmore, who passed away in 1992.
She was the daughter of Bradford Greene Anderson and Gracie Mae (West) Anderson, both deceased. Survivors include two daughters, Ruth D. Jones of Sarasota, Fl. and Marilyn Alcorn of Land O Lakes, Fl., 4 grandchildren, preceding her in death was a grandson, Jason Alcorn. She was blessed with 4 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandson. She was the oldest family member to 4 brothers, Delmar, Dewey, Bob & Donald and 4 sisters Della Crow,- Ruby Mofield, Jean Cline and Bee Wesley.
She and her husband Cecil retired and returned to Kentucky. They were able to travel extensively throughout the United States. She moved to Venice, Florida in 1994, and moved to Bay Village Retirement Community in Sarasota, Florida in 2001. She was a lifetime member of The United Methodist Church, she was very active with many of the organizations in the church.
She organized and developed the first public library in Whitley City, Ky. She was also very active in promoting young people to get involved in reading activities at the library. She became active as an officer with The Widows-to-Widows organization. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
