FRANK METZGER
Last rites were held Wednesday at Bateman funeral chapel for Henry Franklin "Frank" Metzger who died at his home, 239 SE Kelly in Gresham, Nov. 11. A life-long resident of Gresham he was born here April 10, 1883, and married Josie I. Hoagland in Portland Dec. 31, 1901.
He was a miller for A. W. Metzger company in Gresham for 35 years, retiring in 1946.
Survivors besides his wife, Josie, are daughters, Mrs. C. A. Bean of Grayland, Wash.; Mrs. Howard Means of Portland. Mrs. J. D. Degroot of Everett, Wash.; son, Richard of Portland, Eldon of Colorado Springs, Robert of Salem, James and Thomas of Gresham and Herbert of Boring; a sister, Mrs. Ike Myers of Mill City; a 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Rev. Harry Monroe of Gresham Methodist church officiated at the services and William Elliott sang. Pallbearers were Clair Guillkson, Harry J. Startley, Quinton Kummel, Hans Nelson, Ray Dahl and C. J. Lundquist. Vault interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
