Christ A. Meyer

Christ A. Meyer, 63, Pierz, died April 2 in St. Gabriel's Hospital. He was born July 17, 1911, in Pierz, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Math A. Meyer. On Oct. 6, 1937, he was married to Olivia Gau in Pierz. He was employed for a few years at the Gamble Store, Pierz, then drove a gas truck for more than 25 years, his last association being with Farmers Supply, Buckman. He also did carpentry for the Henry Preimesberger Lumber Co., Genola, and the Pierz Lumber and Supply Co. in 1946 he joined the Pierz Fire Department, in which he was active for 29 years.

Mrs. Meyer survives her husband, with four daughters; Mrs. Marvin (Sylvia) Burggraff, Pierz; Mrs. Duane (Luann) Jansen, Blaine; Mrs. Robert (Maureen) Bozovski, Brooklyn Park, and Mrs. Norman (Marlene) Dather, Mayer, Minn., also ten grandchildren. There are three brothers and four sisters; Peter, Joe, Gust, Mrs. Michael B. (Mary) Meyer, Mrs. Leonard (Catherine) Janson and Mrs. Alfred (Eva) Janson, all of Pierz, and Mrs. Lena Diedrich, St. Otto's Home. Preceding him in death were brothers Nick, Andrew, John and Matthew, and a sister, Margaret Faust.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Pierz, with Rev. Alfred Heltemes officiating, and burial in the parish cemetery.
