Edmund W. Grolmes, 79, of Granite City, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2002 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
He was born July 12, 1923, in Hartford. Mr. Grolmes was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Granite City and retired in 1980 as owner of the Ingleside Tavern after 22 years.
Survivors include three sons, Theodore F. Moran and James A. Moran both of Indianapolis, Ind. and John L. Moran of Granite City; one daughter Diane Edwards of Ballwin, Mo.; one brother Joe Grolmes of Simpsonville, Ky; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Grolmes in 1998; his parents, Bernard and Catherine (Beide) Grolmes; one sister, Dorothy Lang and one grandson, Michael Moran.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, at Davis Funeral Home, 2960 Cleveland Blvd. in Granite City.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Rev. Torri Liebler officiating.
Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
