Bernard Grolmes, 84, of 2234 Grand avenue passed away Wednesday at 8 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He had been in the hospital one day.
A retired farmer, Mr. Grolmes was born in Chouteau township and was a Granite City resident 30 years. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Catherine Grolmes; two sons, Joseph of Louisville, Ky, and Edmund of Granite City; a daughter Mrs. Walter (Dorothy) Lange of Maryville; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday June 22, at Pieper funeral Home, 1929 Cleveland blvd. Services from Pieper's at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 21st and State streets, and for 9 a.m. requiem Mass. Rosary 8 p.m. Friday June 23 at funeral home. Interment Calvary Cemetery.
