Obit 1.
George Wood, who has been sick for several weeks, died friday night at 8 o'clock at his home one mile southeast of Mena. Mr. Wood was 64 years old and has long been a resident of Polk County. He leaves a wife and five daughters, four of whom reside in this county, the other, Mrs. B. Wilcox, residing at Quinton,OK. Those living here are Mrs. Daisy Southern, Mrs. O. Brown, Mrs. Barrett, Mrs. O. Spears, and a single daughter, Miss Bessie Wood, who lives at home.
The funeral took place at the family Cemetery at Egger Saturday.

Almighty God in His wisdom has seen fit to remove from our midst Bro. George Wood. Mr. Wood was born in Indiana on August 5,1874. He enlisted in the United States Army in October 1861, and served one year. He was married to Miss Wiley A. Johnson on the 3rd of July 1870. To this union there was born six girls and two boys, all living, to mourn the loss of a dear father. This wife died and Mr. Wood remarried and this wife survives. The deceased was 65 years, 5 months and 3 days old. He joined the Baptist Church of Christ at Yockney in 1909 and lived a true Christian life until death. Bro. Wood was a reminder of the F.E. and C.U. of A., Liberty local No. 235, and was president for about seven years. He has lived in this couny about 12 years. The funeral was conducted by Bro. W.L. Smith and the remains laid to rest in Yockney Cemetery.
All members of Liberty Union No. 235 and as committee appointed by the local, we write this memorial and request that it be published in the Mena Star and also in the Rual Educator. J.K. Wilcox, J.R. Farris, J.H. Brown.
