Mabel L. Carlson, 87, Brockton resident
EASTON — Mabel L. (Garfield) Carlson, 87, a lifelong resident of Brockton, died Tuesday at the Easton-Lincoln Nursing Home in North Easton following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late LeRoy N. Carlson.
Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary (Antone) Garfield, she worked at the former Dartmouth Shoe Company many years ago.
Mrs. Carlson is survived by two sons, Ronald H. Carlson of Taunton and LeRoy N. Carlson Jr. of Milford, Del.; two daughters, Barbara Monast of Fort McCoy, Fla., and Beverly Lincoln of Berwick, Maine; two sisters, Edith Clifford of Brockton and Jenny Glover of California; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also mother of the late Lorraine D. Carlson and sister of the late Lucille Anderson and Alton Garfield.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the Dahlborg-MacNevin Funeral Home Chapel for All Faiths, 647 Main St., Brockton. The Rev. Donald E. Paige of Pearl Street United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
