Mrs. Mary L. Garfield
Mrs. Mary L. Garfield, 545 Main street, widow of Edward A. Garfield, died Sunday in a local rest home in her 78th year. She was in failing health for several years.
Born in Plattsburg, N. Y., she had made her home in Brockton for 50 years. She was devoted to her home and family and was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed sewing for her children and grandchildren.
Surviving is a son, H. Alton Garfield of Brockton; three daughters, Mrs. Jennie A. Glover of El Monte, Cal.; Mrs. LeRoy N. Carlson with whom she made her home in Brockton, and Miss Edith C. Garfield of this city. Also 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 P. M. at the funeral home, 188 Belmont street. Rev. J. Manley Shaw will officiate. Interment in Pine Hill cemetery, West Bridgewater.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary L. Garfield, 545 Main street, widow of Edward A. Garfield, were held Tuesday afternoon in the funeral home, 188 Belmont street. Rev. J. Manley Shaw, pastor of the Central Methodist church, officiated. Interment was in Pine Hill cemetery, West Bridgewater. There was a large attendance and an abundance of floral tributes requiring a special open car for their conveyance to the cemetery. Bearers were Leroy Carlson, Sr., Paul Thatcher and David Anderson and Ronald Carlson, grandsons.
