LeBaron James Kasson was born on February 1, 1856 in Almoral, IA. LeBaron was the youngest son born to to Reverend James H. and Mary (Sherwood) Kasson. LeBaron graduated from Iowa College (Ames, IA) in 1879. He also graduated from Iowa State University in 1880 with a degree in Law. LeBaron married Mary McFarland (born in New York in 1855) on April 20, 1882 in Marshalltown, Iowa. LeBaron and Mary had two daughters - Francis Kasson and Mary Bradford Kasson.
LeBaron died on May 8, 1914 at the age of 58, and he is buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa.
