Born April 18, 1948, at Dobra Camp, near Sharples, she was a daughter of the late Hurl and Gladys Linville Stowers. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Walker; and brothers, Hurl Jr., Ted, Clyde, Sebert, Charles, Joe and Tommy.
Kay was a member of Spruce Laurel Freewill Baptist Church and her joyful spirit and faith in God was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband of 37 years, Joseph M. Bishop of Clothier; daughter and son-in-law, Bridgette and David White of Logan; son and daughter-in-law, Charlie Jr. and Sharon Keeney of Clothier; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene Stowers of Panama City, Fla., Dempsey and Judy Stowers of Clothier, Bob Stowers of Waterbury, Conn., and Dewayne and Kathy Stowers of Stratford, Conn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marvine and Burley Martin of Saxis, Va., and Crol and Ed Riggs of Bridgeport, Conn.; and one special granddaughter, Makayla White of Logan, who was truly her little angel from above.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Paul Little, the Rev. David May and Ralph Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
