Ellis Glenn Broom was the son of Rosa Jane Hargette and Hiram Ellis Broom.

He played outfield his sophomore year and graduated from Salisbury (NC) High School in 1923.

Glenn registered for the World War II Draft in Wayne Co., NC, Oct 16, 1940, at age 35, b. Charlotte, NC, Feb 15, 1905, self-employed at (Broom Used Car Co.) 225 N. John St, Goldsboro, NC; next of kin, mother, Mrs. Rosa Jane Broom, residence 406 N. James St., Goldsboro, NC.

Glenn worked in the oil industry near Oddessa, Texas, before moving back to Goldsboro.

He became a partner in the Carr Spring Company, Goldsboro, with his brothers Otis and Bill.

He was a partner with his brother Bill in the Broom Motor Company, Goldsboro, a dealership for Jeep, Henry J., and Nash, which included a used car lot and garage.

Glenn lived in Goldsboro most of his adult life.
